Under his management, the climate change and sustainability unit of the Division was re-organized and re-focused on improved markets and products resulting in growth in revenues, taking core services to profitability and thus the ability to invest in new initiatives. The unit's capabilities and skills were aligned with the market needs and by the end of 2012 the unit had projects in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the US.
Currently Mr. Rescalvo leads the DNVKEMA Energy and Sustainability Emerging Markets unit providing sustainable use of energy services in Latin America. In this position he is leading first of its kind projects in areas such as green cities and rating of environmental assets. In this endeavor he and his team have worked closely with national and subnational governments and the private sector in the design of energy efficiency programs feasibility studies, bottom up approaches to integration of subnational sustainable interventions at the national level and the development of low emissions development strategies.
